SPAIN: The Treasury will make an inflation-linked auction … – EntornoInteligente

ABC of Spain 2 / The Treasury plans to make at least an auction of state bonds and debentures linked to European inflation each quarter during 2015. This was reflects the strategy of the institution under the Ministry of Economy and Finance and they explained at a press conference the general secretary of the Treasury and Financial Policy, Rosa Sanchez-Yebra, who explained that the objectives of reducing the cost of funding is maintained, maintain or extend the half-life, and diversify the investor base.

Sanchez-Yebra said the Treasury will continue in 2015 its program of Bonds and Obligations indexed to European inflation, with the news that these products will be incorporated into regular auctions. The Treasury official said that “the intention is to make at least one indexed to inflation every quarter auction”. The Government anticipates a net Treasury issuance 55,000 million euros this 2015, slightly below the closing recorded in 2014 (55.641 million euros).

These 55,000 million, Sanchez-Yebra said, will be “sufficient” to meet the financing needs of the state and territorial governments maturities benefiting from the new arrangements approved by the Government at the end of the year Last. Gross Treasury financing in 2015 amount to 239.369 million euros, of which 141,996 will be medium to long term (Bonds and Debentures), a figure which represents 264 million less than in 2014. Meanwhile, the issuance of Letters of Treasury will be 97.323 million euros, about 1,730 million less than the previous year
