The board of directors of Bankinter, a proposal from the Nomination and Corporate Governance Committee, has appointed Gloria Calvo Díaz new general secretary of the bank and the board, replacing Monica Lopez-Monis, who left office in February.
As reported by the company, in addition to the functions as general secretary, Calvo also be part of the steering committee of the organization and will be responsible for the Tax and Legal Department of the bank, Compliance and Money Laundering.
Born in León in 1963, is an attorney Gloria Calvo State and he has developed practically all his professional career in various responsibilities related to the central government.
Over the past three years he has acted as counsel for the Chief State in the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, covering assistance legal competence in matters of the three Secretaries of State in the Ministry is organized and the Secretariat and, through it, the Minister and his Cabinet. Also, he was a member of the Governing Committee of the Fund for Orderly Bank Restructuring (FROB).
Previously, Calvo has developed functions as state attorney before the Board of Administrative Litigation of the National Court in matters relating to taxation.
The new secretary of the board of directors of Bankinter took part, since its inception in 1996 until 2011, the Council of the Market Commission (CMT), a body created to liberalize the networking and telecommunications, audiovisual and interactive. He has also been a representative of the State Legal Service to the Court of Justice of the European Communities.
