Greece today paid to the IMF 750 million euros – The Universal

Greece today made a further payment to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) worth about 750 million euros, he told Efe a source of the Office of Public Debt Management.
 


 The payment will be paid at 16.00 local time (13.00 GMT), when the banks open in New York, IMF Headquarters.
 


 


 The Eurogroup on Monday acknowledged the progress in the negotiations with Greece, but said that until an agreement is reached 7,200 million euros not that remain to be disbursed in the second rescue, so the financial strangulation persists for Government Alexis Tsipras.
 


 


 On Wednesday the IMF Greece and paid 200 million euros in interest credits granted by this body under the two bailouts.
 


 


 So far this year, the country has so far returned promptly all its loans, a sum which currently amounts to about 6 billion euros, according to information from the Executive, although not receive funding from August.
 


 


 Eurozone yesterday saluted the progress achieved in the negotiations with Greece, but stressed that more efforts are needed to overcome the differences, while Athens liquidity recognized the urgency for an agreement in the next two weeks.
 


 


 While acknowledging the progress, the money will not come to Athens to reach an agreement at technical expert level on a positive completion of the second bailout.
 


 


 In the press conference after the meeting, Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varufakis, acknowledged that “the issue of liquidity is a terribly urgent matter” and expressed his hope that an agreement is reached before restrictions failure of funds to be “coercive”.
