MADRID (Reuters) – Telefonica and the Spanish soccer league announced Friday an agreement by the operator in Spain will exclusively market the television rights to payment of the First and Second Division and the Copa de Rey in 2015/16 season.
Telefonica will pay 600 million euros for these rights, the two groups said in a joint note.
With the acquisition of media rights for the domestic market, Telefónica managed to win the local producer Mediapro, which in June announced an agreement to market the television rights of the Spanish League in international markets.
