German Finance Minister says that companies “offshore” must be transparent – El Periodico de Mexico

BERLIN (Reuters) – Finance Minister of Germany, Wolfgang Schäuble, called companies “offshore” to become transparent after a huge leak of documents in Panama showed how they are used to hide the heritage of rich and powerful in the world.

Several governments have launched investigations into possible financial irregularities by the world elite after filtration of more than 11.5 million documents Mossack Fonseca law firm, based in Panama, which has established nearly 250,000 signatures over the past four decades.

“We need full transparency throughout the world,” Schaeuble wrote in a contribution as a guest to be published in the Sunday edition of German newspaper Bild am Sonntag.
