The Provincial Court of Braunschweig, a city in the state of Lower Saxony (northern Germany), admitted today (08/08/2016) a collective demand for Volkswagen shareholders against the company for handling gas emissions in diesel vehicles.
the demands for compensation for damages by shareholders against Volkswagen clarified in a standard procedure before the District court of Braunschweig, which is the court which has jurisdiction to take the case, because the VW group headquarters is located near the city
the Provincial Court of Braunschweig currently has 170 claims for compensation for damages.; most of them, 3,255 million euros, is 277 institutional investors, followed by another 680 million euros. Shareholders sue believe that Volkswagen reported too late to market manipulation gas emissions in diesel vehicles.
