Thanks to their terrifying advances and mysterious demos, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard has established itself as one of the titles most anticipated for early next year. For this reason, Capcom hopes its new survival horror will have a successful launch.
In a recent discussion with MCV, Antoine Molant, director of marketing for Capcom in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa) pointed out that "commercially" Resident Evil 7 is the release’s largest Capcom for consoles of current generation. Thus, the retailer expects that the new installment of its franchise of terror is a success in its first day of release.
"Ideally, we’d love to sell 4 million copies globally in the first day. That would be great. Giving a glimpse to what is found in the preórdenes and current trends, we feel very confident that we are close to. All the signs that we have seen in the market, whether in the Uk or in other territories, have been very positive. We do not want to relax a little bit because we want to take advantage of it. The confidence is there," mentioned Molant.
No doubt, 4 million copies sold so 1 day would be an impressive achievement for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, more if we take into account the success of other securities of the company. The web site of Capcom shows that only 9 of their games (among which are Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil 5) have sold over 4 million copies.
however, Molant mentioned that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard that the pre-sales are going "very well", so surely the dealer has grounds for thinking the above. So, the only thing that remains is to wait to see if the wishes of Capcom are met. Can buy Resident Evil 7 on its first day of release?
