A third company in addition to the investigations for alleged falsification of pollutant emissions. Volkswagen and Fiat Chrysler are added now the French firm Renault, which is also being accused of adulterating their vehicles with diesel engines to show better environmental indicators.

unlike the two previous cases, where the us authorities are in charge of the inquiries, this time it is France, the country responsible for verifying whether or not the automotive manufacturer was using a tool to manipulate their rates of contamination.

The case of Renault opens after the French Government decided to begin investigating all of the autos marketed in that country a product of the scandal that starred in Volkswagen in September of 2015. In this way, after months of investigation, there were several models of the signature gala that showed pollution levels above what is permitted. However, up to now, authorities have not stated what models it would be and how many would be affected vehicles.

From the company, meanwhile, assured that they comply “with the regulations, French and european,” and that its “vehicles are not equipped with software that affects the systems anti-pollution. These statements go in line with what was stated this week by the firm Fiat Chrysler after also being accused of falsifying their emissions.

In the market, for its part, the effects were similar to those experienced by the group italoestadounidense last Thursday. Yesterday, the shares of Renault fell by up to 6% on the Paris Stock exchange, which resulted in a loss of value of US$ 1,600 million. However, with the passing of the hours the titles managed to slow her fall to finally close with a decline of 2,89%, up to a price of 83,76 euros per share.
