Tokyo, Dec. 25 (EFE) .- The Tokyo Metropolitan Government today announced that will train 35,000 volunteers to provide services” language assistance “for visitors foreigners who come to the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The local government plan includes English language training for all volunteers to submit to a test access and achieve a minimum.
Those who are selected will have access to free classes and participate in language immersion programs, explained a spokesman for the organization to Kyodo.
The goal is to have a sufficient base volunteers to help the thousands of foreign visitors are expected to come to the city for the Olympics, in areas such as transport and access to medical services or entertainment.
The Government Metropolitan also presented today a project to improve the capacity of air rescue fire department Tokyo, consisting of the creation of special units prepared to evacuate a lot of people for cases like fires in skyscrapers or high magnitude earthquakes.
The plan of the local executive for 2020 includes also expand the number of charging stations for electric vehicles, to childcare and nursing homes
