Record number of foreign tourists in July, although the nights fall … – La Vanguardia

Madrid, Aug 22 (EFE) .- Spain in July received a record 8.3 million foreign tourists, up 5.9% or half a million, an increase that was not reflected, however, in figure the volume of overnight stays, which fell by 1.8% due to a reduction in the average stay.

Also in the period from January to July, the largest influx of tourists comes largely from the UK, Germany and especially France which contributes more than half a million additional tourists, while declines were the only ones with Russia and USA, with 3.8% and 5.5% fewer visitors, respectively.

All communities increased their number of international tourists through July, receiving two out of three of these additional visitors Andalucía , notably Catalonia and the Canary Islands,

The UK was the first issuer from January to July, with 8.4 million tourists and a rise of 5.5%, followed by Germany with 5.8 million, up 6.6%, and France, with nearly 5.7 million and a sharp increase of 10.8%.

Catalonia was the first host community, with 9.3 million tourists international, up 5.7%, followed by the Balearic Islands, with 6.3 million (up 0.8%), and the Canaries, with 6.5 million (up 11.8%).
