Francisco Granados spends his first night in jail – COPE

The judge Eloy Velasco has ordered the detention without bail for the former secretary general of the PP in Madrid Francisco Granados and his friend the building contractor David Marjaliza, who were questioned by the judge today regarding the plot Punic corruption.

Granados has answered questions from the National Court judge Eloy Velasco and the prosecutors of the case for two hours this morning, and denied business dealings with Marjaliza, who has refused to testify.

The judge charged the political crimes of money laundering, membership of a criminal organization, against the public, influence peddling, bribery, embezzlement, breach of trust and fraud.

The judge outlined in his arrest warrant Granados holds that “some accounts” of the Swiss authorities have reported that there is a suspicion of money “aggravated” money and adds that there are indications that, along his public career, Granados could have benefited Marjaliza and other entrepreneurs like defendant José Luis Huerta, in public procurement and planning.

exconsejero Velasco points that formed part of a network of influence peddling which he also used for his own benefit, and identifies various real estate transactions that could have been a consideration received from those employers.
