Prices extend their decline in April by the energy sector – Investing.com Spain

MADRID (Reuters) – Inflation expanded in April its downtrend in Spain in a context of lower energy prices, according to preliminary data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE) Thursdays.

the estimated annual rate CPI in April was -1.1 percent compared to -0.8 percent in March, in a context of low prices.

“This decrease is mainly explained by lower prices of package holidays and electricity,” said INE in a press release.

Meanwhile, the annual change leading indicator HICP (harmonized inflation with EU partners) in April stood at -1.2 percent compared to -1.0 percent in the previous month.

analysts expected a decline 1.0 percent in the April IPCA year.
