owners seek compensation for case emissions

Lawyers of thousands of car owners Volkswagen diesel falsified the results of emission testing had asked a judge to order payment compensation if the company and government regulators did not reach an agreement on Thursday.

the order appears on a proposed agenda for the hearing scheduled for Thursday before US magistrate judge Charles Breyer in San Francisco .

He says that the owners want an expedited hearing or a trial to obtain an order of “fair compensation” would begin in July. Otherwise, they want a trial rule that would force VW to pay damages in the same time frame.

Volkswagen says in the document that are not considered appropriate for a hearing or trial because it is moving towards a arrangement and compensation. The solution could meet in Thursday’s hearing.

Lawyers for the owners presented the trial order in an attempt to advance the case, said Carl Tobias, a law professor at the University of Richmond. Cases have been extended, no polluting cars in circulation and owners wonder if VW will buy back vehicles or carried out a repair that reduce performance and mileage per gallon of gasoline.

The owners initiated thousands of lawsuits VW after the company acknowledged in September that intentionally falsified testing emissions and polluting cars put into circulation. The cars exceeded emissions tests while nitrogen oxide emitted at levels 40 times above the permitted.
