Repsol matter 1 million barrels of Iranian crude this June – EnergyPress

The Spanish multinational energy and petrochemical Repsol reported the import of one million barrels of Iranian crude in the month of June.

According to reports Saturday of Iranian media, the Director of International Affairs of the National Oil Company of Iran (NIOC, for its acronym in English), Seyed Mohsen Qamsari, the company and Repsol have agreed, as a first step, sending a million barrels of Iranian crude to Spain.

However, Iran’s owner has not provided further details about the agreement, but has revealed the signing of other agreements with Italian companies Saras and Iplom and Greek Hellenic Petroleum.

In addition, he continued, negotiations continue to trade short or long term oil with other European countries.

Oil exports from Iran, which exceeded 2.7 million bpd per day in 2011, fell to just over 1 million daily after hardening of sanctions imposed by the United States and other Western countries in 2012, under the pretext of the program Iranian nuclear power.

Following the lifting of antiraníes measures on 16 January, the Persian country decided to raise its production to one million bpd within six months, in order to regain its position as the second largest producer in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

Most petroleum shipments could be destined for Europe, as the country has signed in recent months oil contracts with the Spanish company Cepsa and Total.

For the first time after the lifting of antiraníes sanctions since 2012, last March a shipment of one million barrels of Persian oil reached coasts of Europe: The oil Monte Toledo downloaded Iranian oil at the refinery in the Spanish Oil Company SAU (CEPSA), near Algeciras, southern Spain.
