BRUSSELS (Reuters) – The European Union on Wednesday accuse Google of abusing its dominant position in online search, so the US company could risk huge fines and forced changes in its business model, said Tuesday the Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal.
However, two sources familiar with the matter They assured Reuters that an indictment antitrust not be ready for Wednesday and could take several months.
The EU can impose penalties of up to 10 percent of total turnover, or more than 6,000 million dollars in fines if Google.
An EU official said Competition Commissioner block, Margrethe Vestager, would make a major announcement on Google’s Wednesday after the executive of the European Union hold their weekly meeting.
The Commission chief spokesman would not confirm the reports, citing officials from the EU, but said a news conference would be held after the meeting at around 1000 GMT.
