Spain will launch before April the auction for the installation of renewable capacity – Investing.com Spain

MADRID (Reuters) – The Spanish Government is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2017 an auction of renewable energy, as part of the goal to introduce up to 3,000 MW of green energy in the coming year.

In a press note, the ministry of Energy said that the auction will be conducted under the modality of technological neutrality, which will allow distinas modalities (sólar, wind, solar thermal…) to compete among themselves.

“this ensures that we incorporate those projects that are more efficient and which result in a lower cost to the consumer, in line with the guidelines of the European Commission,” the ministry said in a note.

new projects should be ready before December 31, 2019, and set different milestones.

it Was planned that the first auction of renewable capacity by at least 1,000 MW to be run in December, but the political bloc in the country for nearly a year, slowed down the plans.

The premiums for renewables were considered within the electricity reform of the previous Executive popular as the main cause of the tariff deficit, the billionaire imbalance between the revenues and the regulated costs of the electricity system has already ceased to grow.
