WASHINGTON (CNN) –
The transition team of president-elect Donald Trump has made it clear to republican leaders in Congress that the next ruler of the united States want to pay for the border wall between Mexico and the EU by means of the system of allocations from April, according to legislative sources.
The action would mean that Trump breaks with one of his most repeated campaign promises, when he insisted that Mexico would pay for the construction of the wall on the border.

Trump defended his proposal this Friday in a tweet, arguing that the decision to use the allocations from the Congress is for speed reasons.

“The dishonest media won’t report that the money spent on the construction of the Great Wall (for reasons of speed) will be paid by Mexico after!”, wrote Trump on Twitter.
The republican representative from New York, Chris Collins, said Friday that the u.s. taxpayers would face the cost of the wall, but that he was sure that Trump could negotiate the return of the money of Mexico.
“When you understand that the Mexican economy depends on american consumers to Donald Trump have all the cards you need to play,” said Collins, coordinator of the Congress for the transition team, Trump, Alisyn Camerota of CNN in New Day. “On the side of the trade, I don’t think that it is so difficult for Donald Trump to convince Mexico that it is in their best interest to reimburse us for the building of the wall”.
The team of Trump claims that it has the authority to do so under a law passed in 2006, during the administration of president George Bush, which authorizes the construction of the wall, but it lacks the funds to do so, said legislative sources.
Members of the transition team have told the republican leaders in Congress that they would like the funds to be included in the spending plan, according to a source the republican high level in the legislature.
“it was Not done during the government of (Barack) Obama, and that giving funds to what had already occurred a decade ago, we could start the process of fulfilling the campaign promise of mr. Trump secure the border,” said a republican representative from Indiana, Luke Messer, Thursday.

Messer acknowledged that “it is a lot of money, but it is a question of priorities”. He pointed out that the head of Homeland Security, Mike McCaul, last year proposed a security initiative that would cost about 10,000 million dollars.
republicans point out that then-senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, as well as senator Chuck Schumer, voted in 2006 in favor of the proposal to build the wall, and pointed out that since the democrats abandoned that commitment, they should support any effort to pay for the current plan.
The idea is that now, it would be hard for the democrats to the derail the plans budget, due to everything that would be in game if you are not approved on time.
“The democrats could be in the position of stopping the entire government to prevent the construction of a wall, a barrier, or a fence,” said Messer.
If Mexico refuses to pay for the wall, then the Republican Party could increase by billions of dollars the budget plan that must be approved for the 28 of April in order to maintain operation of the government. But it would cause a confrontation with the democrats in the Senate, with the latent threat of a government shutdown.
As it is, it has not taken a decision on the matter, sources said the Republican Party.
representative Steve Scalise of Louisiana, the third republican most important in the Lower Chamber, declined to comment on Thursday if Congress will pay for the wall.
“we Want president Trump to have all the tools you need to build the wall,” said Scalise.
“we’re talking with him about the details, because they are still forming their team. We still have a few months before another budget plan. We will work with him to make sure that it is right. We want to build a wall. He wants to build a wall.”
