Spain: Port of La Coruña, close to 2016, tripling its losses and complete four years of deficit – PortalPortuario (blog)

The Port Authority of a Coruña reported that the local port registered losses of 3.59 billion euros at the close in 2016, tripling the 1.16 million by 2015, and achieving four consecutive years without benefits. The Authority, in accordance with the calculations of this document, trust to recover profits by 4.77 million by the end of this year, projecting the sale of the docks Battery, and Calvo Sotelo adjacent to the grounds of the hotels Finisterre and La Solana.

The last year in which the Port of La Coruña achieved benefits was 2012, reaching over 2 million euros in earnings. In 2013 the annual balance sheet yielded losses 722.000 euro, in 2014 the figure rose to 4.25 million, in 2015, the deficit declined to 1.16 and, finally, in 2016, came up to 3.59 million.
