A grand jury indictment in the united States charged with six employees, high-level Volkswagen for the case where the company falsified the emission of pollutants, while the automotive company admitted guilt and agreed to pay of 4,300 million dollars.
The charges are federal, and the agreement with the prosecutor’s office were announced Wednesday by the Justice Department in Washington, in the scandal about the rape of emissions, and a vast scheme for encubrirla.

VW installed software in diesel engines which enabled the vehicles to control emissions during testing of the government and shutting it down once the car returned to the streets. The software improved the performance of the engines, but emit oxide of nitrogen to a level 40 times higher than allowed.
regulators confronted employees of VW on the use of the computer program to mid-2015. Volkswagen initially denied having used the software, but finally admitted it in September of that year.
In a press conference Wednesday, secretary of Justice, Loretta Lynch, said: “Volkswagen obfuscated, denied and lied”.
The settlement announced requires VW to cooperate with the ongoing investigation, which could lead to more arrests of employees.

VW agreed to the appointment of an independent monitor to oversee the compliance and control measures for three years.
The German company reached previously a civil arrangement of 15,000 million dollars with the environmental authorities and owners of vehicles in the united States under which it agreed to purchase up to 500,000 cars. The company also faces a lawsuit from investors, and an investigation into criminal in Germany. In total, 11 million vehicles in the world were equipped with the software.
