Hotel stays grew by 4.3% in February to the … – Yahoo Finance Spain

MADRID, 23 (EUROPA PRESS)

The Spanish hotels recorded 14.4 million overnight stays last February, representing a 4.3% more than in the same month in 2014, according to figures released Monday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

During the first two months of the year, overnight stays in hotels increased 4.2% over the same period of 2014.

The annual progress made in February due to the 6.7% increase in overnight stays of residents in Spain, and to a lesser extent, 2.7% increase in overnight stays by non-residents.

Still, the average stay was 1.3% in the second month of the year, after the fall of 3.2% recorded in January, standing at 2.9 nights per traveler.

The annual rate of Hotel Price Index (HPI) stood at 1.3% in February, which is 0.9 points lower than last month and 1.0 points higher than that recorded a year ago.

The average revenue per occupied room (ADR) 70.6 euros, down 1.9%, and income per available room (RevPAR), subject to the occupation recorded is 36.6 euros, with an annual rise of 2.1%
