Spanish Prosecutor denounces former director Rodrigo Rato IMF – Reuters


       

MADRID (Reuters) – The Office of Madrid on Thursday filed a complaint against the former head of the International Monetary Fund, Rodrigo Rato, requesting prompt search of his home, the Superior Court of the capital of Spain reported.


       

Agents of the Tax Agency afternoon moved to Madrid’s home who was also vice president of the Spanish government, denounced by others whose identity has not yet transpired.


       

A judicial source said the record was related to his personal assets.


       

The instruction court number 35 of Madrid, who was on duty, authorized the investigation, the court said in a statement.


       

A source from the Tax Office merely informed that he was proceeding to registration following a request from the Office of Madrid, implemented through a court.


       

A Reuters photographer who was outside the home of Rato, located in the central district of Salamanca in the Spanish capital, was out to an agent with vest identifying him as customs agent of the tax office.


       

A legal representative of Rato was unavailable for comment.
