A woman who protested against the policy of the European Central Bank, which was leaked to a press conference as a journalist, on Wednesday climbed on the desk of the president of the organization, Mario Draghi, and disrupted common technical presentation before she was taken to the room.
“Down with the dictatorship of the ECB,” he shouted, throwing what looked like confetti and paper sheets. His shirt had a similar message, spelling “Dick-tatorship”. The woman made the V hand as a symbol of victory and smiled as two men wearing gray suit holding the arms and legs.
A startled Draghi raised his hands to protect , but otherwise he was relatively unperturbed. The press conference was resumed soon after. It was unclear where was the woman or why protesting specifically.
Some Europeans are outraged with the austerity imposed on his country by the European Union, in some cases due to ECB rules.
