Spain’s economy is growing at its fastest pace since the economic crisis began in 2008, said Wednesday Economy Minister Luis de Guindos.
The official explained that the Spanish economy grew at a rate close to 4% in the first half of the year compared with the same period in 2014. This is half a percentage point higher than the initial forecast.
De Guindos said the second quarter should exceed the rate of 0 , 9% quarterly recorded in the first three months of the year.
Spain was severely hit by the global financial crisis and was
until late 2013 that began to emerge from a double dip. The economy is now one of the fastest growing in Europe. 
The ruling Popular Party expected to halt its recovery rates fall in popularity in this election year.
