“The call of the Eurogroup just finished,” said the president of that institution, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, in a brief message on his profile Twitter. “The Eurogroup is united in its decision to await the outcome of the referendum in Greece before further discussion. Let’s not put the cart before the horse,” said for his part the Slovak Finance Minister Peter Kazimir, in the same social network .
During the meeting, which lasted about an hour, the Eurogroup “has taken note of the second letter” sent by the Prime Minister of Greece, Alexis Tsipras, its partners, which is willing to accept part of the latest proposals from creditors, but with two cambos, eurozone sources said quoted by the news agency EFE.
Tsipras advised the Greeks vote for “no” and stressed that the output of the euro does not arise, because the government has a “firm” intention to reach an agreement with its partners
In the letter, Tsipras also asked a third “borrow” two years in which participate the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), the permanent rescue fund for the eurozone, but without mentioning the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The Eurogroup agreed that no further negotiations before the consultation be held convened for next Sunday, in which the Greek government asked its citizens whether to accept or reject the last offer put on the table by its partners and creditors.
The eurozone ministers held their conference call shortly after the end of a televised Tsipras speech, in which he confirmed that maintains the consultation convened on Sunday.
The Greek president did not change his advice to the Greeks to vote “no” and stressed that the output of the euro does not arise, because the government has a “firm” intention to reach an agreement with its partners.
