Cabify, competition from Uber, come to Merida this month – El Diario de Yucatan

         


      

Through a statement, the company private transport Cabify, similar to the Uber platform, reported that soon will begin operations in the city of Merida.

The CEO of Cabify Latin America, Ricardo Weder made the announcement through a letter to media and users in order to officially inform the entry of the new platform transport to the city and state its position before the events that occurred a few weeks ago against drivers Uber and . amendments to the Law of Transportation

he recently talked about an initiative to amend the Transportation Act of the State of Yucatan, where companies Transport Networks (ERT) as Cabify will be considered within the new regulatory framework. Although we do not know what the final proposal, it is important to note that the regulation does not inhibit innovation or allow the creation of monopolies.

What do we mean by this? regulation should be focused 100% benefit to citizens and not on other issues that favor one company or interest group. The essence of aligning a new law governing the service of ERT (Companies Transport Networks), is based on generating a common good for society, in order to have more and better alternatives mobility based on modern technology platforms and efficient.

Our mission in the state is to use new technologies to ensure that citizens have viable and innovative mobility more alternatives. So we will support cultural change for citizens to reduce car use and have a better quality of life.

Finally, from Cabify we are aware of the decisions taken in the State Government of Yucatan, plus it will seek a meeting with the relevant authorities to share with you our opinion on the issue of mobility as we have contemplated starting operations in June 2016
