The bailout fund eurozone today (17.06.2016) approved the delivery of 7,500 million euros to Greece, money will be transferred next week to the Hellenic country, announced on Twitter the European Stability Mechanism (ESM).
Athens and its creditors have spent months negotiating reforms and cuts that allow sending more sections of the total ransom for 86,000 million euros granted to the country, the party receiving. So far only been paid 2,000 million euros.
The announcement comes after ministers of eurozone finance give green light Thursday to pay at a meeting in Luxembourg. The payment is part of the section of 10,300 million euros agreed by the Eurogroup early last month. Greece needs the arrival of funds to avoid falling into bankruptcy. And only in July Hellene country faces debt payments by 3,000 million euros.
The remaining 2,800 million euros of funds agreed they will be paid later this year, once Athens has made deeper reforms in privatization, governance and energy sector banks. (Dpa)
