Apple would like to flexible screens for its future iPhone – Revista Capital

According to a report published by the Wall Street Journal, Japan Display, a japanese manufacturer of LCD panels, is preparing some new LCD panels that are flexible and similar to those of the Galaxy S7 Edge, and its sides curved.

The company ensures that Apple is considering the use of these panels for the launch of some of its iPhone, which it would be with the sides curved to the usage of the line Edge from Samsung,

most likely, until 2019′t see some kind of prototype of an iPhone folding, more than anything because with a few manufacturing lead times as these it is impossible for us to see before an Apple device with these features.

The company asian would be able to make panels flexible thanks to the replacement of glass by plastic. In addition, this would allow Apple to continue using LCD panels instead of OLED, this, despite the fact that it is rumored that the iPhone 8 (2017) will come to the public with an OLED screen.

although it is expected that the iPhone this year will have a curved panel but OLED, the development of flexible panels LCD from Japan Display could bring screens a lot more curves and flexible. But in any case, it is just an assumption of what is expected for the next iPhone.
