             Telefónica announced a capital increase of EUR 3.048 million

                Madrid, Mar 26 (EFE) .- The Board of Directors of Telefónica has decided to undertake a capital increase in the telecommunications operator by slightly more than 3.048 million euros, the company informed the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) .
This capital occurs once the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade), the Brazilian antitrust authority, approved, with some restrictions, the purchase of the telecommunications operator GVT by the Spanish multinational .
The deal, announced last September, had already received the approval of the telecommunications regulator (Anatel) sector and is conditional upon agreements merger control (ACC) proposed by the parties, according to the Cade.
Telefónica will issue 281,200,000 new shares with a par value of one euro and a premium of 9.84 euros, so that the total subscription price will be 10.84 euros per share .
The titles of Telefónica closed yesterday’s session at 13,525 euros, 24% above the subscription price of the new shares.
Our shareholders have a right of first refusal, according to the note sent by the operator to the CNMV, at the rate of one new share for every 16 old held.
