LUXEMBOURG The Ministers of Economy and Finance of the urozona gave Friday to the creditor institutions of Greece the mandate to negotiate a third rescue the Hellenic country, once they had the approval of the 19 countries in the common currency.

“We welcome the vote by a large majority in favor of the reforms by the government and the Greek parliament “said Klaus Regling, director of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM)

” This paved the way for today’s decision to start negotiations on a new program for Greece ” he added.

euro -the ministers called Eurogrupo- and gave the green light to the third initial rescue, which will run for three years and could reach an amount of 86,000 million euros.

The Eurogroup chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem, said in recent days that the negotiations between Greece, the European Commission (EC), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) the European Central Bank (ECB) could last for four weeks.

The Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis spoke Friday of “several weeks” and said it is preferable that the negotiations be concluded by August 20, when Greece has to face a new refund to the ECB.
