Greece starts to pay back their loans to the ECB and the IMF – Daily Mail

Greece started Monday the payment process 4,200 million euros at European Central Bank (ECB ) and 2,000 million at International Monetary Fund (IMF), a ministerial source said.

“The payment has begun,” confirmed a source close to Greek finance ministry source. Repayment to creditors has been possible thanks to the bridging loan of 7,160 million euros to the European Union on Friday granted the country.

Of the 4,200 million owed to the ECB, Greece pay the same Monday 3,500 million . 700 correspond to other interests.

Last June 30 Greece failed to pay 1,560 million euros owed to the IMF nor another loan of 457 million euros that had to return on July 13, so now I can do.

Greece also plans to pay 500 million euros to the central bank, which will already have almost exhausted the bridge loan.
