The Mussel Regulating Council of Galicia and Galicia Consumers Union (UCGAL) agreed to collaborate with each other to share synergies around two main axes.
One of the points is the call for a “clear and true” label, which guarantees the protection of the rights of consumers and workers.
The other is to disseminate Galician citizenship differentiated quality products, and more specifically, the Designation of Origin (PDO) Mussel of Galicia.
The agreement, signed by the Chairman of the Board, Francisco Alcalde, and the president of UCGAL, Olveira Ana Blanco, also aims to develop awareness campaigns, cooperation in training and knowledge transfer, and collaboration in counseling and exchange of information.
In parallel to this agreement, Galician Mussel just launched a powerful awareness spot, called “Mussel of Galicia, seafood label,” to warn consumers about misleading labels canned.
The company reaffirms its conviction that consumers need to recognize the unique brand that guarantees the origin of the Galician mussel. DOP
spot shows what are the most common offenses in the labeling of mussels are, and emphasizes that one of the mistakes is the use of commercial claims of type ‘from Galicia’ or ‘flavor Galicia ‘on products that are not certified by the PDO.
The video will be massively spread through social networks and mobile.
