the giant US computer Apple invested 1,000 million dollars in china application taxi booking Didi ChuXing, number one in the country, he said Friday the company, rival Uber US.

Made during a large collection of funds, this injection is “the single most important investment” ever received Didi, making the California group one of its “strategic” investors, said the Chinese group operating the application in a statement.

Didi ChuXing, supported by the Chinese internet giants Alibaba and Tencent, ensures that dominates 99% of the Chinese market taxi booking online and more than 85% of reserves of private cars with driver, with about 300 million registered users.

However, the company has to deal with the meteoric success of Uber, who came to China in early 2014 and develops blow colossal investments needed to subsidize the journeys of their customers and increase their user base.

Uber, which has mainly been supported by Baidu, another Chinese Internet behemoth recently announced that it lost 1,000 million dollars a year in China.

To cope, Didi raised billions of dollars last year. “The support provided by Apple gives us a huge morale”, welcomed Friday Wei Cheng, founder and director of Didi.

“We anticipate numerous opportunities for deeper cooperation [between Apple and Didi], we believe this will lead to robust results,” added Cook, quoted by Chinese news agency.
