Spain will grow more than 3% in the first half of 2016 – AméricaEconomía.com

Madrid. Economy Minister acting, Luis de Guindos said Monday in Brussels (Belgium), where is attending the meeting of the Eurogroup, the growth of the Spanish economy the first half of the year will be around 3%, and even above.

De Guindos said that “we see no sign of slowing in the second quarter of this year, bringing growth in Spain in the first half it would be above 3%, and considered that it is a fact that shows the “strength” of the Spanish economy, whose statements have been collected Monday by local press.

However, Luis de Guindos warned of the need to “further reduce the deficit at an appropriate pace, to make sustainable public finances and to continue to grow the economy.”

De Guindos participate Monday in a meeting of finance ministers of the Eurozone to discuss the situation in Greece, where he will be with the Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Union, Pierre Moscovici, although the Spanish minister has ruled address the issue of deficit bilaterally, after responding with several “no” to questions of whether use the event to deal with Moscovici the Spanish deficit.

Finally, De Guindos also will discuss the request last weekend that made the president caretaker government, Mariano Rajoy, the head of the EU executive, Jean-Claude Juncker, to ask for flexibility to bring the deficit below 3% and avoid the threat of fines for noncompliance Spain.
