Amazon disappointed though tripled its net profits in the third quarter – ElEspectador.com

The us giant Amazon released this Thursday results deemed disappointing for the third quarter, despite a net profit more than tripled in relation to a year ago, of$ 252 million and an increase of 29% of their volume of business.

earnings per share, reference to Wall Street, in effect, reached only US$ 0,52, when analysts had expected US$ 0,78. The action Amazon was losing more than 4% in electronic trading after the close of the exchange.

The founder and ceo of Amazon, Jeff Bezos discussed the results referring to the personal digital assistant of the company, Alexa, questioned by his speaker Echo and other applications.

“Alexa, could be the invention most beloved of Amazon to date -literally – with more than 250,000 proposals of marriage on the part of customers and on the rise,” said Bezos.

“And continues to improve. Since the brain of Alexa is in the cloud, we can easily and continuously improve its capabilities and make it more useful, expect to see some surprises in who is working the equipment now,” he promised.
