In the new film Why Him?, in which James Franco plays Laird Mayhew, a multi-million-dollar internet trying to beat you to the parents of his girlfriend, having no absoultamente nothing of decency and morality.
This comedy gives an interesting twist to the typical situation of "the boyfriend meet the parents" when you enter this enterprising millionaire with ideas that are unusual for the head.
Entrepreneur USES spoke by phone with the director of the film, John Hamburg (who also wrote Meet the Parents, Zoolander and I Love You Man) and we talked about what for him represents the technology and clear, what was to have worked with the CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk.
1. Does the character of Laird, was based on someone?
No. I created it by reading stories and watching videos on YouTube of young people who gained massive success in the subject of technology. Such is the case of the story of the wedding of Sean Parker where they made a place something awesomely medieval.
When you begin to win more money than one could spend in many lifetimes, you can do crazy things. And no, it is not to judge the young men who passed that, it’s more okay to say "this people exist, and there are more and more. You have to explore them!"
2. Elon Musk made a cameo appearance right? Is there anything particular you can tell us that happened with him?
He had called one day and had to cancel it because apparently one of their rockets are not launched correctly. When you already got to go to the set, he said:
"Elon, this is definitely the first time in the history of my career that an actor cancels called because it failed to take off his rocket".
I have to admit that I was somewhat nervous the day that Elon was going to shoot. I’m a big fan of your work, I think that is one of the geniuses of the most amazing in our history.
in Addition to being a great innovator is very friendly. I was excited to participate and he did not want to appear as if outside 'the star'. And yes, of course it arrived in a Tesla, if I had come on a Kia I would have confused for a bit.

3. We know that Laird has the latest technology in your home, (including a version most smart of the Amazon Echo with the voice of Kaley Cuoco) but and you, do you have a lot of technological gadgets in your home?
I’m not Really a guy tech. I think that I could not work in that branch. I find it difficult to order up a toothbrush.
With to tell you that I was afraid to change my vacuum cleaner. Of course, if I could have an Echo with the voice of Cuoco maybe yes I would invest.
4. Do you have a routine or habits that keep you focused while you’re working?
When I’m writing my schedule is pretty normal. Dropped off my son at school, I go to the office at the start of the day, you already know a schedule of 9 to 5 in the afternoon.
Lead is completely different. The hours are crazy because you spend speaking with many people throughout the day so that you need more energy.
Usually I meditate in the morning, if for some reason I don’t have time I do it in the afternoon, but never stopped doing. Those 15 or 20 minutes in silence are very important to me.
5. When it comes to delegating, are you obsessive? What is your leadership style?
you Need to build a team that understands the vision of the director. That is the key. It is my job to communicate my vision and let people behind the scenes, designers, and producers to do their things.
you Need to open to ideas about how to do something better and make a decision.
Many films you get in trouble for not deciding on what they want. I try to leave the improvisation to work, but at the same time, I need to know when to move to the next one.
