17.6% of Spanish companies sold through e-commerce in 2014 for a volume of 198.261 million / Information .com / MADRID, 26 (EUROPA PRESS)

17.6% of companies with ten or more employees carried out e-commerce sales by 2014 and the turnover generated by these sales reached 198.261 million euros, 1.4% more than in 2013, reported the National Statistics Institute (INE) through a press release.

Branches activity with the highest percentage of companies made sales via e-commerce in 2014 were hosting services (83.1%), food, drinks, snuff, textiles, clothing, leather and footwear, wood and cork, paper, printing and reproduction of recorded media (24.7%) and wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (24.1%).

The sales through trade mail last year accounted for 14.4% of total sales by companies with ten or more employees, compared to 15.1% last year.

13.1% of companies made sales through e-commerce website and the total value of these transactions was 60701.5 million euros, 30.6% of total e-commerce sales.

66.7% of the e-commerce sales were destined web by other companies, while the percentage of sales to final consumers was 31.4% and the government, 1.9%.

In terms of geographical destination , 83.5% of web sales fell in Spain, 12.7% was sold to other countries in the EU and 3.8% in the rest of the world.

The 27, 6% of companies with ten or more employees made purchases via e-commerce during 2014 and the total volume of orders of goods and services made through electronic commerce was of 197,102.5 million euros, 0.9% more than in 2013.

The industries with the highest percentage of companies that purchased through e-commerce were the ICT (61.2%) sector and the information and communications (53.5%) .

The purchases through e-commerce accounted for 20.3% of total purchases of companies with ten or more employees, compared to 21.7% last year.

25.9% of companies made purchases via e-commerce website. The total value of these transactions was 78834.1 million euros, 40% of all e-commerce purchases.

81.1% of e-commerce purchases were made in Spain, 15.3% to other EU countries and the remaining 3.6% to other countries, according to the INE.
