Madrid, June 6 (EFE) .- The CCOO union said today that the rise in pensions to women with children, approved yesterday by the Cabinet, is an “isolated and partial” initiative with a “strong electoral component” to “use” the system of Social Security to fund short-term objectives.

In a press release, CCOO has explained that the measure provides that benefits the new pensioners with two or more children from January 1, 2016, “and not to the millions of women who are already pensioners and also had two or more children.”

“Once again, the government announced a measure but does not fund it,” noted CCOO has also stated that the initiative will be paid by contributions of assets and, in the short term, the Reserve Fund of the Social Security
