His body gains in size, thanks to the increase of 5 mm in width(up to 1.725 mm) and 10 mm in the battle (up to 2.580 mm). All in all, the Rio is 15 mm longer than its predecessor (now 4.065 mm) and 5 mm lower (up to 1,450 mm). Its trunk has a capacity of 325 litres – is 37 litres larger than that of its predecessor.

The dashboard is now oriented towards the driver. In the center there is a new infotainment system with a touch screen of high resolution. Below this screen, the console is driver-oriented with fewer buttons and to control the heating and ventilation, a provision most ergonomic, with the switches and concave dials.

the interior of The Rio has more storage space than before. At the base of the center console there is a double tray for mobile devices or other small objects, on the ceiling there is a hole to save a pair of sunglasses and the glove compartment has a single space. There are holes for bottles in each door (fit containers of 1.5 litres in the front and 0.5 l in the rear) and two large drink holders in the front. The doors have built-in holes in their handles, which are very useful to stop things such as the telephone or coins. There will also be a armrest that will add more storage space to the interior.

The Kia Rio will be the first B-segment car with USB sockets on both the front and rear of the passenger compartment. With them, users will be able to physically connect a mobile device to the infotainment system of the River, or to recharge the batteries during the fly.

special attention has been paid to the improvement of the insulation of the cabin noise from wind, road and engine. Have adopted new materials insulation on the dashboard to reduce the noise levels of the engine in the front of the cabin, while a sub-frame assembly more rigid, minimizes the vibrations of the surfaces and poor roads.

Available with four engines

The new Kia Rio is powered by a range consisting of four engines: two petrol engines (1.2 CVVT 84 and the 1.0 T-GDi 100 HP) and a diesel with two power levels (1.4 CRDi (77 and 90 HP).

All the engines deliver power to the front wheels, through a gearbox five-speed manual for gasoline engines 1.25 l-and T-GDI 100 HP, or a six-speed for the diesel 1.4-liter.

The fuel tank, located under the rear bench, has a 45 l capacity, two more than in the previous model, providing 34 to 58 kilometers extra per tank, depending on the engine (based on the combined-cycle combustion NEDC).

Compared with the third generation, the modifications to the chassis of the River include: columns, MacPherson strut and a lower arm more rigid in the front suspension and in the rear, a shaft torsional higher, which improves high-speed stability. The adoption of some rear shocks vertical and a front technology of linear valves preloaded make more direct response to steering and enhance the response of the suspension on firm spot.

the equipment of The new Rio is available (according to versions) with lights and automatic wipers, Cruise control (Automatic Cruise Control ACC), speed limiter, parking aid with rear camera (you can find more information on security systems in the sub-heading "Security"), six airbags and Isofix for child seats in the seats in front passenger and the rear.

The Rio will go on sale in Spain, with a range of seven body colors and three wheel designs, ranging from 15 to 17 inches in diameter. Your interior is available with fabric upholstery in a black color.

The fourth generation of this model will only be sold with bodywork of five doors and will be offered as standard with an exclusive warranty of the company 7 years or 150,000 km of range.
