The Spanish bank, CaixaBank assumed control of the Portuguese bank BPI, which has already had the majority of the shares, by increasing your percentage of capital at the 84,5 per cent through a public offer of acquisition (OPA) on Wednesday announced the authority’s stock of Lisbon.

The offer of CaixaBank, which already had 45.5% of BPI, valorizaba the fourth Portuguese bank in to 1,630 million euros.

The 39% purchased through the tender offer represented a disbursement of 644,5 million euros to the Spanish bank, the third in the country.

According to the media, economic, Portuguese, business woman, angolan Isabel dos Santos, until now the second shareholder of BPI and opposed for a long time the attempts of purchase of CaixaBank, finally ended by selling its share of 18.6% during the take-over BID launched in April by the Spanish bank.
