Sales of Kia in Mexico grew by 85.9% in January – The Economist

During 2016, KIA Motors Mexico placed 58,112 units, an amount that significantly exceeded the sales target of 45,000 vehicles that the brand was raised early last year.

For this year, the brand has the ambitious goal of selling 80,000 units throughout the country, with base in the good results reported from its entry to Mexico in July 2015.

The best-selling model of KIA Motors Mexico in January of 2017 was the KIA Forte with 1,742 units; the second was the KIA Rio, with 1,259, and the third KIA Sportage with 1,133 vehicles.

The distributor with the highest sales achieved in January of 2017 was KIA Linda Vista, located in Monterrey, with 222 vehicles, 10 more that sold in December of 2016, which keeps the first place in a consecutive way between the 73 distributors in the country.

In second place was KIA Valle Oriente, Monterrey, with 219 vehicles, improving the 193 December of 2016; while the third position is for KIA López Mateos, located in Guadalajara, with 194 units, keeping the number of sales in the previous month.

in this regard, the general manager of Kia Motors Mexico, Horacio Chavez, said that "starting the year with a figure above the 5,000 vehicles it is very pleasing and is a reflection of the people rely on our cars.
