This mill produces in a day the electricity consumed by a home in 120 years – Channel 44, The Channel of the News

The turbine V164, a massive wind mill of 220 metres in height with rotor blades of 38 tons and 80 meters long (little less than a football field), generated losing 216,000 kWh in just 24 hours, during your first test, it was only a few weeks. Enough to feed for a whole day to 72,000 households in the u.s. average.

Or, looked at another way, an amount of energy capable of feeding for 120 years of an average home in Latin america. However, it is in Østerild, Denmark, the V164 is being evaluated, for subsequent sale to other countries in Europe.

while the testing and installation of the V164 dating back to three years ago, when its manufacturer, Vestas, began to develop the model, has recently been improved in order to achieve the production of 9 megawatts (MW) of rated power, while the average number of turbines installed offshore (in the sea) managed to develop between 4 and 6 MW.

The production reached for the V164 in its first test mark the all-time record in wind power generation and increases the strength of technology development in that line, and that provide models renewable energy.

This turbine was developed to ensure that the companies generating electric energy abarataran their costs of operation, managing in this way less mills and reaching with them the production demand. These huge turbines have to be anchored to the continental shelf, which even encourages its use in some places. However, Denmark is the place where new innovations are leading in this field. Only in 2015, 42% of the electric energy consumed in the country came from wind turbines.
