Frankfurt Alemania.-Central Bank’s offer European (ECB) to buy national bonds from countries with economic problems is “compatible in principle” with the treatment of the Union European , said adviser to the Court of Justice of the EU.
The program buy bonds helped calm market turmoil that threatened to break the European monetary union when was announced in 2012 but never got to get going.
Critics of the measure in Germany questioned the program in court. They claimed that the ECB exceeded its authority and violated a ban EU for the regulator rescue directly to governments.
The markets have been following the case in part because the ECB is considering a program broader buying bonds to stimulate the economy.
