Eurozone unemployment stands at 11.5% – The Economist

Unemployment stood at 11.5% in November in the euro area, unchanged from August, but 0.4% over the same month in 2013.

Unemployment stood at 11.5% in November in the euro area, unchanged from August, but 0.4% over the same month in 2013, according to the first estimate of the European statistics agency Eurostat .

According to these figures, Eurostat estimates that 18.394 million people were unemployed in November in the euro zone, 34,000 more than in October, but 522,000 less than in November 2013.

In the whole European Union (EU) of 28 countries, unemployment also fell tenth in relation to October, at 10.0%, and in relation to November 2013 fell seven tenths. This means that there are 24.423 million people unemployed, 19,000 fewer remaining stable in October and 1,487 million less than in November 2013.

Unemployment in Germany while in France it stood in November at the 10.3%, as in September, but a tenth more than in October.

In Spain, however, the low unemployment tenth month since August, according to Eurostat. In November stood at 23.9 percent.

In Greece unemployment was in September (latest data available) to 25.7% in October was located at 26 coento.

Between those under 25 years, Spain continues to top the list with 53.5% unemployed. Compared to October fell 0.2% since August 0.5 percent.

It is followed by Greece with 49.8% in September, Italy with 43.9% and Portugal with 34.5 percent.

In the Eurozone, Eurostat reported an unemployment rate of 23.7% among those under 25 years, 0.1% more than in October and 0.2% less than in November 2013, while for the whole EU stood at 21.9% in November, 21.8% in October and 23.2% in November 2013.
