MADRID, 08/01/2015 (The People’s Daily Online) – A 76.2% users of mobile Internet access using messaging applications like WhatsApp, Line or WeChat in Spain.
These data contrast with 43.5% of people who use these services from wired to network, according to a report on OTT (Over The Top, for its acronym in English) conducted by the National Commission on Financial Markets and Competition (CNMC).
In terms of frequency, 51.5 % of mobile users use everyday mobile messaging services without any control whatsoever by telephone operators. The report also shows that Spaniards make more intensive use than their European neighbors messaging services. In Spain, according to Deloitte, 83% of smartphone users use messaging at least once a week, compared with 67% in the Netherlands, 43% in Germany, 34% in Portugal, 30 % in the UK, 20% in Belgium and 15% in France.
