Position. Greek Prime Minister reiterates that it will not backtrack on its bailout program.

El País

Prime Minister Greek, Alexis Tsipras, announced yesterday that his government “will not back down” and, from Thursday (tomorrow), presented in Parliament the first measures promised to voters.

One day after Eurogroup, where the clash between Athens and its European partners about the future of the country bailout was repeated, Tsipras reiterated that his government is not willing to give up their program.

“No chantajeamos, but do not let ourselves be blackmailed. We work for an agreement without austerity without memorandum, agreement without the toxic part of the troika, “he said Tsipras before the parliamentary group of his leftist formation SYRIZA in a broadcast speech live.

“You can already look to Greece as a colony,” said Tsipras a strong message to the ultimatum received on Monday in Brussels to Athens requested the extension of the rescue by Friday.

The Prime Minister has directed more than a dart towards the German finance minister, Wolfgang Schäuble who “felt by the Greeks” and branded as “irresponsible” the Government of Athens. “Schäuble lost his cool and made derogatory comments about the Greek people,” said Tsipras. “I want to remind you that you should feel sorry for people who walk with his head down,” he added.
The Prime Minister informed that this Thursday, after the election of President scheduled for today, will be introduced in Parliament’s first law to protect against evictions first home and to prevent transfers of defaulting to “hunters debts” debits.

In his speech to Parliament, Tsipras explained that Thursday will also take Parliament the law that expands the circle of persons eligible to pay a hundred times their debts to the Treasury, which said, “alleviate the burden of many families.”

“I hope that these two laws have been approved for Friday afternoon so that the people know who is on your side and who is on the side of the oligarchs interests, “he stated.
