MADRID, 17 (ANSA) – The Spanish government debt in 2014 reached 98.1% of gross domestic product (GDP) with 1,003,958 million euros setting a new record, according to official data released today.
The percentage represents five more than the target set by the government of Mariano Rajoy for the entire previous year (97.6%) tenths. It
this figure was reached after debt rose in 10.884 million in December, so chaining two consecutive months of rising.
The Spanish government debt tripled since the economic crisis began, because in 2007 represented 36.3% of GDP.
The government expects that debt reaches 100.3% this year, to 101.5% in 2016, and the next year starts to fall to 98.5%. UR-FM / ACZ
