BRUSSELS (Reuters) – The German government hopes that Greece will assume a strong commitment to its previous resolutions on reforms, an official of the euro area told Reuters on Thursday after that the Ministry of Finance in Berlin rejected a new proposal from Athens to extend its lending program.
In a statement previously issued Thursday, the German Finance Ministry said the new Charter of Athens was “in the direction of an interim financing without complying with the demands of the program.”
