According to an official of Athens
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, and German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, held on Thursday a “constructive” telephone conversation told Reuters an official of Athens.
Another government source said the conversation lasted 50 minutes. “The conversation developed in a positive atmosphere, directed towards finding a beneficial solution for Greece and the euro area “, the official said.
Greece formally asked on Thursday a six-month extension of its loan agreement with the euro area, offering major concessions on the run to avoid running out of cash within weeks, but the German Finance Ministry rejected the proposal.
