LONDON (EFE) .- The British mobile phone company Carphone Warehouse announced today that it has been the victim of a cyber attack that could have compromised the privacy of data on more than 2.4 million customers.
Among the details that hackers may have stolen included names, addresses and dates of birth, the company said today in a statement.
In the note, Carphone Warehouse also acknowledged that the information coded accounts about 90,000 bank customers might have fallen into the hands of “hackers”.
“We take the security of customer information very seriously and very sorry that there are people who have been affected by this attack on our systems, “said CEO of Carphone Warehouse, Sebastian James.
The executive said the company is informing all users affected by this incident, while reiterating that” have taken additional security measures “to prevent such incidents from recurring.
The phone company said the” cyber “was discovered last Wednesday and in addition to that initiated by the police, a company “leading cybersecurity” is developing an internal investigation
