The eurozone grew by 0.5% in the first quarter – euronews

According to data developed by Eurostat on Friday, it is one tenth less than the first estimate, but exceeds two the last quarter of 2015.

Spain has been one of the fastest growing countries with 0.8% between January and March. According to the Acting Minister of Economy, Luis de Guindos, the economy is expected to grow by over 3% in the first half.

GDP of the main euro-zone economy, Germany, has increased by 0.7%, above expectations in the first estimate.

Private consumption has shifted to trade as an engine of the economy and have reached record levels of unemployment.

France grew by 0.5% while Italy was 0.3%, one tenth more than in the last quarter of 2015 thanks to strong domestic demand.

one of the worst results has been that of Greece, which submitted a decline of 0.4%. It has also been the only Member State which has provided negative data on-year with a drop of 1.3%.
